Cattolica FountainCattolica is one of the most popular beach resorts in the Emilia Romagna region, on the east-coast of Italy. It lies in a small bay with three metres of sandCattolica, where the beach almost turns into the hills of the Marches. The beaches are groomed and cater especially for young children, introducing a new way to become more familiar with the sea. Cattolica's beach won the prestigious "Bandiera Blu" (an award for only the best European beaches) for the sixth time in 2001. There is an old fishing port, where you can stroll and admire the various coloured fishing boats. You will enjoy discovering Cattolica's charming corners, shady avenues, chic shops and important fishing ports. And with an abundance of cafes and bars, which all happily allow children, you will never be lost for somewhere to be entertained.

Activities

Cattolica offers a plentiful supply of entertainment, why not visit "Le Navi" Marine Park, Europe's most innovative, interactive theme park or the "Delfinario" dolphin display. You can visit the nearby water park's in Rimini, Riccione and Ravenna, all of which can be easily reached via public transport. Do not forget the local market at least one a week.

Transport

In Cattolica there is a local miniature train, which is ideal for getting around the resort, tickets can be purchased at the time. Buses are available, taxis can be hired locally and if you'd prefer to travel a little further afield then you can catch a train in Cattolica.

Beach ChargesBeach

Cattolica is the southern most Lido on the Riviera with its broad and well-groomed golden sands. The beach is well tended, safe and has won several awards, it has been adapted as a haven for children and lifeguards are on duty from May until September. Beach facilities (2 deck - chairs and 1 umbrella) can be hired for approx. £5 - £6 per day, with special rates for 2 weeks.

Theme Parks

Europe's most innovative and interactive theme park; "Le Navi" is located in Cattolica. A Marine Park rich in amusement, knowledge, specularity and culture, where visitors become lost in the discovery of the sea. The "Delfino" is another popular theme park where you can be enchanted by the aquatic acrobatics of the dolphins. Several other water parks can be reached easily by public transport, providing endless family entertainment.
