Consulate:
The Consulate office is at Via XX Settembre 80a and is open to the public Monday to Friday between 09.15hrs and 13.30hrs.

Summertime:
Italian Summer times begins the last weekend of March and ends the last weekend of September.

Climate:
Although Italy is generally regarded as a warm, sunny country, there is a great deal of climatic change between north and south winter and summer. The north of Italy has a continental climate with very cold winters and hot sticky summers, further south and in coastal areas the weather is milder all year round with hot summers. During the winter it rains quite a lot everywhere, spring is fresh and sunny. August is the hottest month of the year.

Water:
Drinking water is safe almost everywhere (except on trains), although most people prefer to drink mineral water. Local wine and beer as well as mineral water are inexpensive. Water for baths and showers can be limited during the summer months, so please use it sensibly.

Customs:
formalities need not trouble visitors to Italy. You can use the green or blue channels if you have nothing to declare. Spots checks sometimes take place.

Shops:
Italy is great for shopping, prices are reasonable and the quality of goods is high. Shops are open from 08.30/09.00 to 13.00 and then from 15.30/ 16.00 until 19.30/20.00 with some local variations. Open air markets are usually held once a week in almost all towns and tourist resorts

Electricity:
Voltage in Italy is between 200 and 220,it can vary. You should buy a transformer, if taking appliances to Italy
